The "Open Door Policy" is virtually the same thing my boss said to us in a departmental meeting a couple of months ago. It was one of three departmental meeting we've had. In six years. I love my job (note the sarcasm). ;-)
"That should say sick day not days"
I love it.
Sick 14 seconds more like.
"Get over it ya weenie!" my Boss said, as I puked all over his desk.
"And don't expect to be paid for that time you spent yacking!"
I have to admit that when I spent 2 days in the hospital a few months ago that my boss called several times to check on me and to expound his knowledge on all things medical. I had my review shortly after that and he let me know that he was going to pay me for those 2 days.
Then he agreed in principal to a nice raise for me. (July 1) then pulled me in later and said I would only get half of it until Sept 1 because "things were slow")
So in late October, I presented 3 pay stubs showing the cut rate. I will find out on Monday if this check finally shows the raise. I did get a supplementary check to cover missed pay from Sept 1 on though).
He is a bit of an enigma.
Dave,
Ah yes, the boss who likes to make everyone feel guilty for taking time off. Don't you love them? I mean you EARN days off, it is a legal benefit.
So if you don't get your raise because things are kinda slow, do you start working more slowly? How does the fact that business is slow have anything to with what you are expected to do?
I love management. Thats why I've been a boss for 15 years. ;)
Eric
