Tuesday, September 25, 2007To Be BluntLong time readers will be well aware of my son Spencer's penchant for blurting out whatever happens to be on his mind. No matter how bizarre. Or blunt. So he was happily chatting with his grandparents yesterday afternoon (who, by the way, are his "two best friends" and don't you forget it!). "When I'm a grown man," he said, "you're welcome to come and visit me." Pause. "If you're still alive." I clapped my hand over my mouth and left the room, leaving my parents to respond without my making choking noises in the background. My mom didn't miss a beat. "Well, sure. It would be a little hard to visit you if we weren't still alive!" Never a dull moment. |

7of my readers are feeling chatty:
Oh!!!! LOLOLOL!! Oh!! I'm making choking noises!! That is so funny, and SO something one of my boys would do.:-D
I LOVE your kids, whenever I feel like I'm alone in the world I think about you and your sweet, brilliant little chickens and feel better...
... or at least reassured that I'm not the only one raising bizarre little mutants.

I wonder if bluntness is at all genetic. Janet is rather blunt herself, don't you think? ;o)
Ahhh the innocense of youth!
In his defense... he is what, 9? and to him, they are what, a jillion?
So add 15 years to him, you get 24, add 15 to them and the earth has passed away.
I'm sure, as your mother's retort indicated, that there was no offense taken, and they probably thought it was quite funny.
Well, who knows what modern medicine will come up with... they may just be alive, or there might be a zombies visiting program...
Spencer, Spencer, Spencer! That boy cracks me up. Never a dull moment in your house Jill!!
Spencer = Quality.
Oh that is GREAT!!! I agree that there was obviously no offense taken. What a sweet boy he is!
