![]() There you have it, folks. If I ever end up in a Home For Washed-up Writers, I can turn to my suppressed talent of cake decorating. What, you couldn't tell that that's Bob the Tomato? My son liked it, anyway. I think there was enough red dye in the icing to ensure a level of toxins that rivaled biological weaponry. Come to think of it, it did taste kind of funny. Okay, the truth. Yesterday's blog was cathartic. And, in a way, terrifying. It wasn't about me, though, as much as it was about sending a message to the uninitiated: "Don't go where I went." Yes, I know. It doesn't work that way. It's our own, stumbling missteps that truly teach us -- if we allow them to. Sometimes it goes further than that, though. Sometimes we can teach someone through our own pain. Even if it's only, "God help me if I ever do anything as stupid as she did." Transparency is a good thing. I admire it in others and value it in myself. In this blog, what you see is almost always what you get. I hope the transparency of my words takes them wherever they need to go for you. Then I truly will have done my part in "touching the world" with my fingertips. Cake, anyone? |

I sure hope you washed your hands before you started baking!
:-D
You know if I show Ida this photo she'll demand an Aunt Jilly Bob cake for her birthday:o)
Very autistic.
I say goodly words. I have a photogenic memory.

Okay... its morning now, and I am saying "WHAT THE CRAP WAS THAT?"
I think the tomato cake is very cute, although tomatos are probably my least favorite food (at least in original form).
Yesterday was a VERY long day. I went straight from work to vide tape a co-worker and his band doing a live concert in the parking lot of our local dinner theater.
The band plays strictly Elton John music, and the show opening at the Broadway Palm West was Aida by Elton John and Tim Rice.
So from 5:30 to 7:00 I was running two separate video cameras. I will be editing it soon to put onto their website that I built for them (www.honky-cat.com)
From 7:00 to 8:00 was the dinner. My work gets free tickets to every show because we print the programs for them.
The show ran from 8:00 to 10:30 and was fantastic.
Neither of us had seen Aida before, but I highly recommend it.
From the show I had to go to my sister's house to collect the Bear.
I finally got home around 11:00.
The previous message came not long after that.
I came in here to delete it, but the little garbage can wasn't there... DOH!
Long live Perin Faye! WOO HOO!
A little too much icing for my taste - lol.
You know, I think that your post was great and I am sure that it will help other writers not to venture where you have been.
Love the cake! Been craving cake a lot lately. Good Job. ;) That is an awful lot of icing though, isn't it? LoL!
Ty'Lain is starting to get into Veggie Tales...sort of. He has entered a Larry the Cucumber phase recently and Larry has to come Absolutely Everywhere with us. Ohhhh, the fit he had when Larry stayed in the van for a short while earlier today.....
Great cake! I really like your blog. I have a food blog if you have a chance check it out at http://cheftami.blogspot.com/
Kerrie -- Nope, picked my nose first.
Jamie -- I'm SO sorry....but my Pampered Chef batter bowl broke ages ago. No more Bob cakes...or Barbie cakes, for that matter...
Dave -- I wouldn't dream of deleting an ounce of your weirdness, anyway.
As for the (icky red) icing -- it really isn't more than your average cake. It's just that the cake itself is dome-shaped.
The cake looks like one of those that you just look at and never eat... like the top layer of a wedding cake. All that red dye would surely have preserved it for years? :-P
I love Veggie Takes and I love cake... but only one of them is good for my waist.
Are there any chocolate-flavor vegetables?
I knew it was Bob!!!
