Friday, March 18, 2005I Am a Deadbeat Blogger
I think I must have issues with this blogging thing. Ah, well -- I will press on and prove that I actually WILL write more than once a month. Random thoughts: 1. Writing fantasy takes a lot of internal energy. I had toyed with the thought of starting an Ezine for fantasy readers, featuring an ongoing series ("tune in next week, when..."). However, now that I am officially in the midst of my second fantasy novel (as well as in the midst of waiting for my agent to reveal the "absolutely perfect independent editor" who is going to make my story -- well, perfect), I find that it's an exercise in REAL fantasy to think that I could actually pull off even a once-a-month fantasy series story. In theory, it sounds like a lot of fun. In reality, I'm absolutely positive that I couldn't pull it off. Unless, of course, I could hire a housekeeper and personal French chef. That will have to wait until my first book hits the bestseller lists. 2. For as much as I absolutely love to talk to people (especially while holding a microphone), I find that I am feeling nervous about my first teleseminar on the 31st of this month. I may have to wear make-up and a nice outfit just to make myself feel better. I mean, who can sound professional while wearing jammies? Not that I put my jammies on at 7:30, anyway. Typically, though, I'm rather disheveled at that time; it's the post-dinner wipe-out syndrome. I'm going to have to to something to energize myself -- like tell Eric to order pizza that night. Aside from all that, though, I'm extremely excited about the teleseminar. It's exhilerating, really, to think about having an opportunity to share with people something you're sincerely passionate about and sincerely believe in. I'll be sure to blog my experience after it's all over (no, really, I will....I promise). 3. Men should not be allowed to play with over-the-counter hair coloring products. But I don't want to steal Eric's prime blogging opportunity, so I will let him tell his own story in his own time. (Biting my tongue has never been quite this painful...) That will have to do for today -- I've got about an hour to work on my novel before it's time to take my little ballerinas to ballet class. Here's hoping I don't fall asleep on the way (someone was snorting again last night...) |
